Post Injury Repair and Pain Relief for Knee & Running Injuries

Located in Manhattan 28th ST, NYC

How We Help

Whether you sit all day at a desk, play football or pound the pavement on the streets of NYC , knee pain can be painful and crippling. The knee joint is complex and provides important stability for the lower body. Injuries to the knee can relate to poor biomechanics and weight distribution in the ankle, hip and pelvis. Likewise, knee pain can cause a change in gait and weight distribution that can negatively affect other parts of the body, especially the hip and low back.

The knee is more complex than perhaps any other joint in the body. From numerous ligaments and tendons, large and strong muscles, nerves, cartilage, unique bony structures and multiple joints, there are many things that can go wrong.

This is why at On Your Mark we will do our best to relieve your symptoms and correct muscle imbalances while also making referrals and recommendations to help get you specialized medical care when necessary.

Injuries we treat include:

  • Patella Tendonitis

  • ITB Pain

  • Patellofemoral Syndrome

  • Hamstring Strains

  • Quadriceps Strains

  • Muscle Imbalances

About Our Treatments

Our massage therapy treatments and personal training sessions for knee injuries are customized for each person and each injury. The knee is a complex joint with a lot of unique, strong and important structures all round it.  Because of this complexity, it takes a careful eye, a thoughtful assessment and a responsible treatment strategy in order to yield the best results.

Our trainers and therapists integrate a wide range of cutting-edge treatment strategies and exercise intervention as part of a comprehensive plan. We connect the dots to what is going on higher in the kinetic chain - at the hips, pelvis and low back - as well as with what's going on below, at the foot, ankle and lower leg.  Flat feet, for example, can have a significant impact on the knee, as can a leg length discrepancy or tightness in the ankle joint and/or calves.

This is what makes the assessment process so important. Our team won't just massage a sore area to make it feel a little better or push clients to work through the pain.  It's more complicated and nuanced than that.

Our treatments may include the following:

  • Active Release Techniques

  • Trigger Point - manual and tool-assisted

  • Deep Tissue Massage

  • Myofascial Therapy`

  • Corrective Exercises

  • Balance and Functional Training
