Why On Your Mark

Advanced bodywork and informed workouts for people who need more than a standard massage or a basic trainer.

When pain, injury, or movement limitations are getting in the way of your life, you need more than a relaxing hour on a massage table or a generic workout routine.

You need someone who can understand what is happening in your body, treat the right areas with precision and help you make sense of what to do next.

That is the work Mark does at On Your Mark NYC.

With more than 23 years of experience in Massage Therapy and Personal Training, Mark brings together advanced medical massage, Active Release Techniques, biomechanics assessment, and practical movement guidance to help clients recover, move better and feel more confident in their bodies.

“I had seen more than a dozen health care practitioners (doctors, PTs, OTs, you name it) before seeing Mark”

“I had seen more than a dozen health care practitioners (doctors, PTs, OTs, you name it) before seeing Mark for my carpal tunnel-like repetitive stress injury pain. Mark provided significant pain relief after just the first session. At each session, he listens intently to my concerns and adjusts his treatment accordingly. He is empathetic and encouraging. I highly recommend seeing Mark if you have carpal tunnel or similar pains from computer or phone use.”

Meet Mark

Mark has spent more than two decades helping New Yorkers recover from pain, injury, and movement limitations.

Over the course of his career, he has provided more than 15,000 hours of client sessions across medical, wellness, fitness, and therapeutic settings. His clients have included people dealing with everything from mild aches to chronic injuries, post-physical therapy limitations, athletic strain, low back pain, shoulder issues, hand and wrist problems and full-body movement dysfunction.

What makes Mark’s work different is not just the number of years he has been practicing or the skills he has acquired.

It is the way he thinks.

Mark does not believe in generic treatment plans or one-size-fits-all workout sessions.

He looks closely at the body, the injury history, the client’s goals and the patterns that may be contributing to pain or limitation. Then he combines hands-on treatment with clear, practical guidance so clients leave with a better understanding of what is happening, home exercise routines and overall clarity on what they can do about it.

He is a Licensed Massage Therapist, a highly trained Active Release Techniques provider and a Personal Trainer with deep knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, injury recovery and safe strength-building for a wide range of populations.

His approach is detailed, thoughtful, collaborative, data-driven and deeply personal.

Because for Mark, the goal is not just to help you feel better for an hour. It is to help you move forward with lasting relief, sustainable results, knowledge and confidence.

What Makes Me Different

1. I look at the whole picture, not just the painful spot.

Pain is rarely as simple as “this area hurts, so this area is the problem.” That is why I look at the bigger picture: your symptoms, injury history, movement patterns, goals, and what has or has not helped before. The goal is to understand what may be contributing to the issue so your session is specific to your body, not a generic protocol.

3. My Active Release Techniques sessions are more in-depth.

Active Release Techniques can be highly effective when used with skill, precision, and enough time. In many settings, ART is only used briefly within a larger appointment. My sessions allow for longer, more focused ART treatment when appropriate, while still drawing from other techniques based on what your body actually needs.

2. My work combines advanced treatment with real movement knowledge.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, advanced Active Release Techniques provider, and Personal Trainer, I bring together hands-on treatment and movement expertise. That means I can treat the tissue, understand the mechanics behind the issue, and help you make smarter decisions about how to move, strengthen, and protect your body outside of the session.

4. You will not get a cookie-cutter session.

Many clients come to me after feeling rushed, unseen, or passed through a system that felt too generic. I take the time to understand your body, your history, and your goals, then explain what I am seeing in a way that makes sense. This is thoughtful, hands-on, highly customized care designed to help you feel, move, and function better.

What Clients Say

“Mark was able to relieve my chronic decade-old back and hamstring pain in a short amount of time.”

“Mark is an amazing massage therapist and trainer. He was able to relieve my chronic decade old back and hamstring pain in a short amount of time. Physical therapy could not resolve my issues but Mark was able to get to the root of the problem. His strength training is spot on. I definitely feel stronger (and invincible!) and youthful again. I wish I knew Mark years ago. He is the best!”
